Suzanne Miklos, Ph.D.

President and Founder
President and founder of O.E. Strategies, Inc., Suzanne Miklos, Ph.D. has over fifteen years consulting experience in a variety of organizational effectiveness activities, including assessment centers, group process, competency based development programs, and culture identification and change programs. Clients appreciate her breadth of experience in talent assessment and executive coaching. Suzanne supports successful client programs with an emphasis on using business strategy and data to drive dialogue about people strategy in manufacturing, professional service and public sector firms. Her project management skills consistently produce on time, value added results for clients. With an emphasis on life long development as a key part of her doctoral program, Suzanne routinely speaks to business and HR groups about cross-generational mentoring, coaching female leaders, and executive development through building emotional intelligence. Suzanne is a member of the Society for Industrial Organizational Psychology (SIOP), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and the American Psychological Association (APA). She earned her PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Akron.

Mike Sliter, Ph.D.

Mike Sliter, Ph.D. has a background that uniquely situates him to help organizations select and develop the best talent. After several years as a professor of Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis, Mike moved into consulting with a focus on technology-driven assessment and selection. Working with Fortune 500 companies on a global scale, Mike is engaged in a broad array of industries, including entertainment and technology, insurance and banking, and hospitality. His primary contacts, ranging from recruiters to SVPs, appreciate his ability to blend science and practice. He is certified in Harrison and Hogan Assessments. Mike has published over forty peer-reviewed articles in top-ranked journals on topics related to health and well-being, workplace conflict, and emotions in the workplace. He is an active member of the Society for Industrial/Organizational Psychology (SIOP), and serves on the editorial boards for the Journal of Business and Psychology and Occupational Health Science. He earned his PhD in Industrial/Organizational Psychology at Bowling Green State University.

With over 30 years on Leadership Development , Lou’s experiences include operating as a senior executive, as an adjunct professor at the graduate level, and an external consultant enabling him to draw upon multiple perspectives when working with clients. When not working, Lou looks forward to spending time with family and his dogs, fishing, golfing, and cooking.

Tim started his career as a professor teaching courses on creativity and statistics, before working for the Cuyahoga County government designing and delivering hiring assessments for entry level and supervisory jobs. He is excited to be part of O. E. Strategies where he can leverage his passion for learning and development to help people thrive at work. In his free time he can be found designing board games and reenacting the Revolutionary War.

Deborah Johnson refers to herself as a “people developer” and has extensive experience within the learning and development space across multiple industries including healthcare, academia, government, and manufacturing technology. Deborah is currently working on a doctorate degree in Organization Development & Change from Bowling Green State University. Her research focuses on the effects of leadership behaviors on employee resilience. When she’s not working, Deborah enjoys true crime, psychological thrillers, and spending time with her teen son, whom she refers to as her best friend.

With over 25 years experience in executive coaching and assessment, organizational change and senior team development, Jay consults to a range of clients in the manufacturing, finance, and health care industries. He is on the Board of the Seaman Corporation, a vertically integrated manufacturing company of coated performance materials and the Advisory Board of Welty Building Company an innovator in Construction Management and Lean Construction. He is a faculty member of the Gestalt Institute of Cleveland (GIC) and has served on the GIC Board as a Director and Treasurer. Jay applies both Gestalt principles and I/O practices to executive development, leadership succession and organizational effectiveness.

Drawing on her background in Industrial/Organizational psychology and extensive experience coaching leaders, she helps organizations optimize their talent strategies. Carlyn Butcher is a seasoned human capital consultant and I/O Psychology practitioner with over 15 years of experience helping public and private sector organizations address complex people challenges. She specializes in applying evidence-based strategies to design tailored solutions that drive growth, performance, and change across the human capital lifecycle—from performance management to talent assessment. Carlyn holds an M.A. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from MTSU, lives in Alexandria, VA, and enjoys family game nights, snuggling her dogs, and listening to podcasts in her free time.

She has spent her career working with organizations and leaders in the areas of leadership development, mentoring and employee engagement. Karen lives in San Jose, California and enjoys spending her free time hiking, paddle boarding and gardening. Karen lives in San Jose, California. In her free time, you can find her outdoors hiking, paddle boardin and gardening. Karen holds a master’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from Missouri State University.

Candidate FAQs

Everything You Need to Know Before Your Assessment

Once my assessment has been scheduled, how will I be contacted?

Once you have been scheduled by your organization, O.E. Strategies will reach out directly to you with instructions for the assessment, as well as links to any prework.

How much time should I allow for pre-work?

Please complete your pre-work one to two business days prior to your assessment with O.E. Strategies.  We recommend that you complete your pre-work in one sitting. Pre-work will take approximately 2-3 hours.  The pre-work will prepare you for the interview.

How should I prepare for the assessment process?

Dress for the day is business casual. You will want to be comfortable.

All supplies that you will need will be provided by O.E. Strategies.

You should plan to arrive 10  minutes prior to your scheduled time.

What will the assessment experience be like?

You will be greeted by a member of the O.E. Strategies team and receive a brief orientation to the assessment process. The process will be administered by a professional assessor and you will engage in a series of activities that will allow you to apply your job-related skills and abilities, such as a job simulation exercise, interviews and computer-based ability tests.  You will receive brief feedback at the end of the session summarizing overall strengths and areas of opportunity.

What if my Assessment is virtual?

You will receive assistance from one of our team members in setting up a video teleconferencing on your computer or laptop.  Your assessor will interact with you live to complete a case study or other simulations as well as conduct the interview.   

Who will see my results?

You will see a written report of your results if this is for development.     The organization sponsoring this assessment owns all results for pre-hire assessments.  O.E. Strategies can not provide results directly to you.

What if I need to reschedule my assessment?

To reschedule, you may contact OE Strategies via phone or email. Information may be found at the bottom of your pre-work 

Will I be notified that my pre-work has been received?

The system will not automatically notify you, however you are welcome to reach out to OE Strategies via phone or email with any questions

Why does my pre-work need to be completed 2 business days prior to my assessment?

We ask that pre-work is completed at least 2 business days in advance to provide our assessors time to review your responses before meeting with you.

Will I see the results of my pre-work/assessment?

OE Strategies is unable to share results with candidates. Reports are property of our clients and it is up to their discretion to share.
